Pick Up (3:56) Ken Andrews, previously of Failure and Replicants, embarked on a solo project called ON in 1999 with the release of the single "Soluble Words", followed in 2000 by the full-length album Shifting Skin, a densely-arranged set of synthesized hard rock. Andrews clearly has a thing for mixing the sound of acoustic guitar with highly artificial, almost industrial-sounding electronics, as he does on the lead track, "C'mon Collapse". Underneath the meticulous production, however, he writes conventional pop/rock sounds and sings lyrics of romantic discord in a clear baritone.
